A Day Trip: Bowen Island

Bowen Island is a small island located 3 kilometres away from West Vancouver. You can take the ferry from Horseshoe Bay or water taxis to get to the island.

After work, I met up with Jasper and we drove to the ferry line-up right away. It only took us around 20 minutes to get to the island, which is great! When we arrived in Bowen, we noticed that the island has the cutest shops ever! Each of them has this rustic and vintage feel combined together. Just like the photo below:

For a small island, Bowen has good restaurants to offer. We ate at Doc Morgan’s Pub and Restaurant because of their patio and the nice view of the water. The food was good, but I heard that a family owned restaurant called Tuscany Pizza is one of the best on the island. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to try it because they open at 5 pm and we were hungry already.

Tuscany Pizza Restaurant. I am in love with the restaurant’s set-up.

Side note: If you’re going to take the ferry, you don’t need to pay for a ticket from Bowen Island to Vancouver. The ticket you purchased from Vancouver is also your return ticket. I needed to put this in here because when we were there, we got confused and worried because we didn’t see any ticket booths in the area. Haha!
